Welcome Note: On behalf of the Organizing Committee, the Department of Medicine at Michigan State University (MSU) College of Human Medicine welcomes you to our inaugural Mid-Michigan Annual Endocrine Symposium (MAES).
About the Symposium: The new Mid-Michigan Annual Endocrine Symposium merges the long-standing Annual David Rovner Endocrine Symposium (ADRES). This symposium will be held in collaboration with the Lansing-based Ingham County Medical Society and Sparrow Health System.
The new JCATS symposium is the first thyroid symposium to be held in the Lansing area. The symposium is named in recognition of late John Crockett, MD (1/30/1940-12/17/2017). Doctor Crockett was a senior radiologist at MSU, as well as the area’s expert on thyroid ultrasonography. He served as a mentor and teacher to the faculty of the MSU Endocrinology Division over the years.
Established by David Rovner, MD, in 1975, the annual MSU endocrinology symposium quickly became a well-received local meeting. After a nine-year hiatus, the symposium returned to the Lansing area in 2017 and was named after Doctor Rovner, who also founded of MSU Endocrinology Division and the first MSU Endocrinology Fellowship Program.
